  The most up & down restaurant I've ever eaten at. Sometimes the food is incredible, and sometimes it's awful. Case in point: a few months back I ordered the French dip. It was sublime... the kind of sandwich you destroy, and then spend the next 10 minutes in a daze, slowly dipping your last few French fries in the au jus while sipping your beer. But a few weeks ago I ordered it again (expecting magic) but it ended up being the worst French dip I've ever had. The beef was so undercooked that it bled out all over my plate and soaked the slightly-stale bread a deep red. It was gross.
  But I am an optimist... so the other day I ordered the grilled cheese reuben... and the corned beef was just disgusting, all rubbery and gristle-y. The "grilled" bread was just hard toast, instead of that nice slightly-crispy slightly-chewy bite that you expect from a good grilled cheese.
  I really want this place to be great, because it has a good atmosphere, friendly staff and great drinks, but I've been burned one too many times to give it anything more than 3 stars.
